I'm Back
Wow, I cannot believe how busy I was! Between D#1's graduation, D#2's concerts, my work activities (giving a presentation at the local VA hospital's research day on my cancer research), hiring and training a new lab assistant, friend's D's wedding, other friend's father's funeral, plus the usual chores, I am amazed I don't collapse right now on the keyboard (I would, but I have another concert to go to, D#2 is playing Beethoven's Fifth!). And I have to go to Minneapolis in a couple of weeks to give a seminar at their cancer center (another PowerPoint presentation coming up). And my VA grant will (finally) be activated July 1st (it's only been, what, a year since they awarded it to me), so I am inundated with paperwork. Can you say bureaucracy?
So, have I been knitting? Yes, but not as much as I'd like. Finished the Embossed Leaves socks, but the star toe did not fit D#1; they have a boring double dec toe.
Up to the heel flap on sock #1 of Peach Petals (had to redo on a smaller needle). No new progress on that teal cabled sweater, but soon I hope to tackle it full-force.
Well even though I'd rather do what Skye is doing here:
I can't just yet. If I fall asleep during Beethoven, will D#2 ever speak to me again? Stay tuned....

If Skye has a dog's life, then I want one, too! Welcome back, Bev. You were missed!
Today in Group we started learning to knit beaded bags. I'm loving it, despite the size 0000 needles!
Me, too. A pampered pooch, that's Skye. Thanks! It's nice to be missed. Wow, 0000 needles..... must be about a half mm? I'd love to see your beaded bag as it grows, that is one type of knitting I have to try next.
