Wow. When did British Columbia move to the UK? I'm pretty sure my plane to Vancouver went west (I changed in Seattle). And Canada is now on the pound sterling. Did that happen when they voted their government out? I'm so lost on the Parliamentary system.

I like the fact that they have a hotmail account......

We had something similar happen here at work. Someone kept calling saying they had a $5 million cashier's check for us, and that they could deliver it to us, but they need $200 from us.

The lottery doesn't email. You have to call the number on the back of the lottery ticket to claim the prize.

That email looks like a total scam.

Okay, here's an article I found about lottery scams.

Remember these tips for avoiding scam lotteries:

You cannot win a legitimate lottery if you have not entered it.

You must purchase a ticket to enter a legitimate lottery.

NO legitimate lottery contacts winners. Winners must always contact the lottery first.

You never have to pay to collect winnings from a legitimate lottery or sweepstake. You pay taxes AFTER you you receive the winnings. There are no other fees.

It is illegal under federal law to play ANY foreign lottery from the United States.

Scammers often use the name of a legitimate lottery in the scam.

Since scammers simply invent new names for their fake email scam (the email is the scam, not any persons or companies named in the email)s, it is more accurate to say that if you do not see the lottery on the list of legitimate lotteries, it is probably a scam.

Ha! Sometimes those spam emails can be quite humorous!

Well, congratulations. When you collect your winnings, I have a beautiful bridge that comes over to our island here in western Washington that I would like to sell you! It's really hard to believe people actually fall for these things - especially when they win a lottery they never even entered!
